Dubai International Chamber opens new office in Dhaka
The aim is to boost trade and investment with Bangladeshi business community
Dubai International Chamber, part of the Dubai Chambers umbrella, has inaugurated its newest international representative office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The move is part of the ambitious ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which aims to open 50 overseas offices by 2030 to bolster Dubai’s position as a premier global business hub. With the addition of the Dhaka branch, the chamber’s international office network now spans 35 countries worldwide.
The launch ceremony in Dhaka was attended by Abdulla Ali Abdulla Alhmoudi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Bangladesh, along with a sizeable delegation from the Bangladeshi business community. The event highlighted the growing synergy between the two economies and underscored Dubai’s commitment to forging deeper trade relations with South Asia.
Trade momentum grows
The opening comes at a time of notable growth in bilateral trade. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Bangladesh reached Dh6.3 billion, marking a 9% increase from Dh5.8 billion in 2023. This upward trend reflects a sustained interest among Bangladeshi enterprises in leveraging Dubai’s global connectivity and favourable business environment.
In fact, the number of active Bangladeshi companies registered with Dubai Chamber of Commerce reached 9,094 by the end of Q1 2025, indicating the robust and expanding commercial links between the two regions.
Business gateway
The Dhaka office is expected to serve as a strategic platform to deepen business ties, offer market intelligence, and provide tailored support for companies aiming to explore cross-border opportunities. It will actively promote Dubai’s competitive advantages and strategic location as a global trade gateway, while also facilitating entry for Bangladeshi companies interested in the Dubai market.
Simultaneously, Dubai-based firms eyeing expansion into Bangladesh will benefit from local insights, business matchmaking, and access to vetted stakeholders and partners across key sectors.
